Unclogging the cistern…

With twin boys, 7 years old, the toilet is in demand – all at once. I realised the other night…on my way to bed, utilising that room, thinking hmmm, where’s that toilet roll gone – I thought I just put a new roll there around an hour ago. Oh, that’s right, they both “went” before bed…it was a bit like handing over the baton…one just about finished and another reall…y really busting…Ok – alright…don’t need anymore details..but here I was noticing an empty roll!  Where did all that paper go?  Within seconds, I saw the answer…right there in the bowl…I pushed the flush button and here comes the water…up, up, up….oh no, “is it gonna go over” I think, “phew – no, ok – so that’s where it all went…clogging up the cistern.” The next thought was – “Life’s a bit like that! –  What tha!” Well, a life can be like a cistern – getting filled up  and up with stuff and then when you wanna flush it away…it’s too chock full, it can’t be flushed away….it takes a couple of pushes of the flush button, or even a shove… to get it all moving again. Does your life feel like that? Need a bit of a shove to get things moving along..to get up in the morning? To get into the Word? To get some positive thoughts happening? Perhaps it’s even hard to push past all the stuff to find something to be thankful about… I do know, I have been in that place too….and I have pushed past it. Sometimes you just gotta push that flush button a few more times, maybe even give it a poke and shove to get rid of the junk and stuff  that has backed up in your life. I implore you – keep flushing, keep pushing, keep shoving. Put some new stuff in – stuff that won’t clog the cistern – the Word. Meditation on the Word will bring Revelation of the Word. The Living Word will not clog the system – He comes to bring Freedom that we may be Free indeed. The ultimate unclogger of our lives is Jesus! Corinthians 3:16-18 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
