Ephesians 4:31,32 Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort. Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ. (GNT)
In relationships (of any kind) and especially marriage:
Find the common ground and stand there!
However small that little patch of ground is – stand there together.
It may take some focusing on…in fact forsaking all others and everything else!
I assure you, that all others and everything else – are not interested in helping you to stand on that little piece of common ground, in fact, often the entire reverse is true.
As you together look up to God, that little patch grows larger and then you are taking steps together…that little patch of common ground just got bigger and soon thereafter, the patch of ground becomes a piece of lawn, then a garden, then a field and then….
wherever you take a step together – is the territory you are taking together!!
Never underestimate the small patch of common ground…it’s the most important piece of “real estate” you are standing on!
