There are times in our lives that we may feel trapped by the good that we do.
This is what the Bible is referring to when it speaks of being persecuted for doing good…
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”Matthew 5:11-12
The story of Daniel shows how wicked men watched and waited for Daniel to do something…..
Actually…what he normally did, pray!
It was a setup to catch him out…actually, he was caught IN the act!
The very thing that Daniel normally did, was the thing that they had set him up for. I kind of like that!
I like it that God’s people cannot be tempted to do something outside of their ordinary activities…Godly activities…praying to God – for example.
They set Daniel up for a fall – a fall into the Lion’s den and then,
Daniel kept on trusting God, whom he daily prayed too…
Even the King of the day, was upset that such a man was set up,
And could not sleep…at first light he rushed to see…
Calling “Daniel, has your God saved you?”
“YES”, replied Daniel.
And he was hauled out from the lion’s den and then,
Those that threw him, where themselves thrown in..
To meet their End. (Daniel 6)
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor 15:58
If you are feeling trapped by the good that you do…stick with it…keep doing what your doing…those that set a trap for the righteous will themselves be ensnared…perhaps they may even come to know the One you are trusting!
URLOVD in every moment….
